Youth Ambassador Project: Uniting Through Stories

Led by Dr. Chan, the Youth Ambassador Project uses storytelling to promote understanding and inclusion within our diverse community. Three youth ambassadors from different cultural backgrounds—Nepal, Pakistan, and Myanmar—have interviewed individuals from various ethnic minority groups, sharing powerful stories that highlight unique challenges and successes.

Interviews include Nepali and Indonesian restaurant owners who shared their entrepreneurial journeys and the cultural importance of their cuisines. Ethnic minority youths in Hong Kong spoke about navigating their identities in a multicultural society, revealing both obstacles and opportunities. An Indian classical dance teacher also shared how dance helps preserve cultural heritage and connect younger generations to their roots.

These stories foster empathy, raise awareness, and encourage dialogue about diversity. Dr. Chan emphasizes that the project builds connections and a sense of belonging. By sharing these narratives, the Youth Ambassador Project invites everyone to celebrate and embrace our community’s rich cultural tapestry.
